Biography

Alison Gedalowitz, M.D.  M.P.A., has over two decades of clinical experience caring for children, families and adults in various clinical settings.  

Dr. Gedalowitz received a Masters of Public Administration (M.P.A.) in Health Care Policy at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.  She earned an M.D. at Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine in New York.  She completed her residency in general psychiatry at the N.Y.U. School of Medicine.  She subsequently continued her fellowship training at the N.Y.U. Child Study Center and Bellevue Hospital where she served as Chief Resident.

Dr. Gedalowitz has supervised and taught medical students, residents and fellows in the Departments of Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Medical Center.   

Prior to opening her private practice she served as a staff physician at the Young Adult Institute (YAI), a New York City based not-for-profit health and human services organization that serves individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families.

Dr. Gedalowitz is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry.
